EWM to Participate in Home Tour to Benefit Needy Children
Every Watt Matters is teaming up with The Children's Fund of San Bernardino and the Claremont/West End Auxiliary on a home tour that will help fund programs for abandoned and neglected children.
The fundraiser, called "Entertaining in Style," features tours of several homes, including one house that was recently retrofitted for energy savings. Every Watt Matters will be available to discuss the work done on the home and to provide information on energy savings in general. We will donate money toward the fund for every person who signs up for our energy-savings program.
Tickets for the tour are $30 in advance, or $35 at the door. For more information, call 909-624-5781 or 909-920-9438.
EWM Headlines Prominent Energy Conference
Armed with a message of job growth through energy savings, Every Watt Matters representatives will be among the chosen speakers at the Energy Upgrade California Conference Jan. 10-11 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, 506 S. Grand Ave., in Los Angeles. The two-day summit, sponsored by Los Angeles County, Southern California Edison, Sempra Utilities, The Gas Co., and SDG&E, will provide training and information on how to improve on the energy efficiency, comfort and health of a home. The conference is being coordinated by ACI, a nonprofit organization established in 1986 as a resource for information, education and best practices in the home performance and weatherization industry.
EWM Retrofit in the News

The Claremont Courier profiled our work on a home energy retrofit in their city with a three-page feature article titled, “Retrofit program can save homeowners serious green.”
The article focused on the work done auditing and retrofitting a 35-year-old home owned by the Shea family. An energy audit, required for homeowners to be eligible for rebate money, identified the most cost-effective energy-saving measures for their home, which included adding insulation to the attic, upgrading the water heater and AC unit, and replacing a heat-generating skylight with a solar tube. The upgrades costs $25,000, but Every Watt Matters was able to help the Sheas secure nearly $5,000 in rebates.
A Green Industry Leader
Every Watt Matters was invited to take part in a recent Green Business Energy Workshop hosted in the San Francisco Bay Area by Efficiency First and Skyline College.
The event featured industry experts addressing topics associated with emerging green industries. Several speakers discussed challenges and success stories in marketing techniques, industry growth, training, mentorships and more.
Every Watt Matters’ Andy Fessel spoke on proven applications to educating people on the benefits of home energy retrofits and the rebates, tax incentives and financing programs available. Case studies, which demonstrate real results, are a critical tool to spreading the word about how energy efficiency retrofits and building performance can save energy, save money and increase the health and comfort of a home, he said.
