EWM Headlines Prominent Energy Conference

Armed with a message of job growth through energy savings, Every Watt Matters representatives will be among the chosen speakers at the Energy Upgrade California Conference Jan. 10-11 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, 506 S. Grand Ave., in Los Angeles. The two-day summit, sponsored by Los Angeles County, Southern California Edison, Sempra Utilities, The Gas Co., and SDG&E, will provide training and information on how to improve on the energy efficiency, comfort and health of a home. The conference is being coordinated by ACI, a nonprofit organization established in 1986 as a resource for information, education and best practices in the home performance and weatherization industry.

Devon Hartman, president of Every Watt Matters (EWM), will deliver one of the first breakout sessions of the conference, presenting the national context and the nuts and bolts of the industry in a presentation titled, “Home Performance 101.” Hartman is a longtime expert in energy efficiency and a frequent public speaker on the issues of energy consumption, energy efficiency and the impacts that reducing energy use can have on a local, national and global scale.

EWM advisor Rick Chitwood, considered one of the foremost experts in home performance and Net Zero Energy homes, will present a number of workshops throughout the conference. Chitwood has worked with Every Watt Matters in designing a business model that enables contractors to guarantee energy savings to their clients. He is also a partner in Green Train-to-Jobs, a sister company that provides exclusive training to Every Watt Matters and its clients.
