EWM Retrofit in the News
The Claremont Courier profiled our work on a home energy retrofit in their city with a three-page feature article titled, “Retrofit program can save homeowners serious green.”
The article focused on the work done auditing and retrofitting a 35-year-old home owned by the Shea family. An energy audit, required for homeowners to be eligible for rebate money, identified the most cost-effective energy-saving measures for their home, which included adding insulation to the attic, upgrading the water heater and AC unit, and replacing a heat-generating skylight with a solar tube. The upgrades costs $25,000, but Every Watt Matters was able to help the Sheas secure nearly $5,000 in rebates.
The financial incentives came from the City of Claremont, Los Angeles County and Energy Upgrade California, a new statewide program with $200 million in funding for home retrofits.
