WHAT WE DO
We work with certified energy auditors to determine comfort and savings opportunities.
We then counsel homeowners on selecting the most cost-effective options, factoring in all available rebates, tax credits and financing options. Once a set of corrective measures are selected, we hire highly qualified sub-contractors to perform the desired improvements. We oversee the entire process from start to finish. After the work is completed, the auditor is brought back to inspect the work, ensuring that the anticipated results are achieved. This procedure ensures the highest quality of work, value and outcome.
Making your home more efficient
Homes and buildings make up half of our nation's overall energy use. Half of that, if not more, is wasted through the building envelope due to improper insulation or faulty heating and cooling system design, inefficient lighting and appliances, and phantom loads.
We know how many miles per gallon our cars get, but how many of us know the mpg for our homes?
Homeowners can save hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars a year in energy costs with no up-front, out-of-pocket expenses. In most cases, the money saved each month is more than the monthly financing cost spent on retrofits. Every Watt Matters assists homeowners through every step in the process of making a home more energy efficient and comfortable. Here's how:
Step 1 Energy Efficiency Assessment
Homeowners will get a good idea of their property's potential for energy savings through this simple but effective analysis. An Every Watt Matters Energy Advisor will check whether your home is suitable for energy retrofits and/or solar power, and determine available rebates, tax credits and eligibility requirements for 100 percent fifteen-year financing. Homes that demonstrate a potential for significant energy savings and/or solar power will be recommended for a more thorough and detailed Energy Efficiency Audit.
Step 2 Energy Audit
We hire an experienced certified energy auditor to analyze all aspects of energy consumption in the home. A detailed analysis is produced that lists specific recommended measures that can be taken to reduce energy consumption while increasing comfort.
Step 3 Competitive Bids
Our Energy Advisor secures competitive bids for each recommended measure from a group of pre-screened qualified sub-contractors and then assists the homeowner in determining the best value and measures to be taken to conserve energy, save money and make the home more comfortable.
Step 4 Financing
Multiple financing options, utility rebates and incentive tax credits are all factored into the financing analysis. We can engineer a no-money-down financing solution; and with the money saved on energy bills, it's often more than enough to cover the costs of the retrofit work.
Step 5 Work Begins
Once the financing is approved, the work is scheduled. The Energy Advisor oversees every step of the process, handling all of the coordination, communication and problem resolution.
Step 6 Energy Savings Certification
Once the work has been satisfactorily completed, we will schedule the auditor to come back to test and inspect to verify the results. The homeowner will receive a certificate from the auditor indicating the anticipated percentage of energy savings, a requirement to qualify for federal rebates.
